I thought I should give my bloggers an update. This is going to get personal, keep that in mind. On Wednesday night I went into the hospital. Nothing serious, and I'm fine now. I had been sick with a cold before Thanksgiving and then went up to Dawson Creek, with every house that we stayed at had dogs. As most of you know, I'm allergic. This made for an interesting stay. Made it home fine - came home still coughing. Thinking it was still my cold didn't really think anything about it. Jill came over on Wednesday, because I was feeling so awful (hot and cold chills, and very sore all over) that I could barely lift up Adam. Remember that he weights over 18lbs. I'm very thankful that I have an amazing sister that can come right over and help. She came over and hung out with us for the afternoon. We had some peanut butter and celery also cheese and celery. I can eat peanut butter - and had already ate alot of the jar. Jill left and Gary came home shortly after that. Gary helped me with Adam by putting him to bed. I went and had a bath. At 8:30pm I swollowed and thought gee, something isn't right in my throat. So I got out of the bath and came downstairs and got Gary to look into my throat. Sure enough it was swollen. We both thought that it was my tonsils. Gary helped me to bed, and I fell asleep. I could still breathe, we thought I should just get some rest. Jill had booked me an appointment with my doctor for Thursday afternoon. I went to sleep just to wake up again at 11:30pm. It wasn't getting better, in fact we thought that it was getting worse. I decided to call the Calgary Health Link. They help me think that it was my tonsils as well. With me still breathing normally and being able to swollow, they suggested that I gargell with salt water and go see the doctor the next day. I did this and tried to go back to sleep. Gary came to bed, to make sure I kept breathing. Things were not getting better. At 12:30am I decided that I should go the hospital. With Adam still sleeping we thought that it would be easier for me just to drive myself and then Gary and Adam could come in the morning. I know - the hospital staff already yelled at me for driving myself. When I got to the hospital, I told them that I was having trouble breathing and I got taken right in to a bed. I felt a little guilty, walking by people that were in the hallway. Anyway, got into a bed and then hooked up to all these machines. Of course, they thought allergic reaction right away. This didn't even occur to me. I don't know why I don't think of these things. I slept in the E.R. Didn't get the most peaceful sleep. I'm still breast feeding, so unfortunately, I wasn't able to give Adam my breast milk because of the drugs. Jen said it would be okay, but I jsut wasn't comfortable with it. Thankfully they had a electric breast pump that I could use. Thursday morning Gary and Adam came to the hospital. Kevin (carpool with Gary) drove them to the hospital. After Gary and I talked we got Marianne to bring us some formula. I know not what some of my friends would like me to do. But it was just what I needed to do at that time. Gary and Adam hung out with me all day. Not very fun. I was really glad that Gary was able to be there, I don't know how I would have managed with just Adam. The Doctors wanted to watch me over night again so I was admitted into the hospital. Unfortnately, the breast pump had to stay in the ER, my pumping in the hospital was done by hand. Not easy, thankfully Jen had showed me how to do this. Praise God for Jen Pinch! Gary took Adam home and I stayed in the hospital again without my family. Gary was amazing. I'm so blessed with my husband. Friday morning the doctor came in and took a look at me and said I was free to go. I was so happy. Adam and my mom picked me up at 11:00am and we were out of there. The drugs were changed to an oral med. The doctors still thought I shouldn't be breastfeeding, but my boobs just couldn't handle it. When I got home, Marianne had dropped off a pump, and I pumped off 6oz from one boob and 3oz off the other!! With the expertise of Jen we (Gary and I) decided that we were going to start breastfeeding again. I'm really glad that we have. Adam is still getting all the formula out of him, at least this is what I think. But I'm really glad that we are having no trouble at all in breastfeeding again. Praise God!! Still figuring out this whole blog thing, forgive me if there are spelling mistakes. So things are almost back to normal in the Hillaby household. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Love each of you.

Ali I am glad you are doing better!
Its nice to have such a supportive family and friends. How old is Adam now?
Ali,
You know I love you! And I am always here for you day or night. I am thankful to God every single day for my girlfriends. It is a huge blessing to know that I could call any of you day or night too, and I have no doubt that you would be there for me. We are lucky ladies. God is good.
And regarding breastfeeding. I am proud of you for making the decision that you made. But, I am even more satisfied knowing that you made the decision after telling me "the breastfeeding Nazi", that you were not going to! I am glad it was a decision between you and Gary, not just because of me. I love that God made human milk for human babies. His design is perfect! And at the very same time, I want you to know that I do respect your right to make choices for your family. Like I said, "You are Adam's mommy." I just want to support you and give you all my best efforts to help breastfeed, if that is your intention. And if for some reason you were unable to, I would be there helping you sterilize bottles and mix formula if you asked me to.
I will see you tomorrow! Take Care of that giant baby of yours!
You know you should have called me before you went to the hospital b/c I would have driven you, crazy girl!!!!!!! WE live 5 minutes away from each other..don't ever go by yourself again!!
We were all glad to hear you are okay..good job Gary, your a good daddy!
